Mandy Blanchard is a dynamic and energetic teacher who enjoys a wide variety of music. She has taught voice, piano, general music and chorus for 14 years. As a voice teacher, Mandy emphasizes the equal importance of vocal technique, body alignment, and emotional connection to the music being sung. Many of her students have gone on to perform at All-State Festivals, play the leads in their school plays, and even become teachers themselves, and it is a joy to be a part of each journey.
Mandy has been performing for over 20 years, as a singer-songwriter, a classical performer and in musical theater. She has performed in plays and musicals with various companies and theaters around Southern NH including The Palace Theatre, Actorsingers, Manchester Community Theater Players, and Hatbox Theater. Her roles include Maria in the “The Sound of Music” and Jack’s Mother in “Into the Woods.” She was also the runner up in New Hampshire Idol 2013! This past spring she had the honor of directing “The Lion King, Jr.” at Saint Catherine of Siena School, where she teaches music.
Mandy has a Bachelor of Music Education from Gordon College, where she studied Voice with Heidi Clark, and performed with the College choir, Opera Ensemble, and the Jazz Ensemble. Her voice training included elements of opera, theater, and Alexander Technique, and has been a key in her continued success. She is very excited to be joining the team at Ted Herbert Music School and helping her students connect to themselves and their audience as they find their voices.
