Elizabeth Thorpe holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from the University of New Hampshire and a Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance from the University of Lowell. Her teacher’s include David Martins, Craig Nordstrom, bass clarinetist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, John Fullam of the Buffalo Philharmonic, and has performed in master classes with Tom Martin of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and David Shifrin, world class performer.
She has performed in Europe with the UNH Jazz Band and professionally with the American Chamber Winds, where she worked with French composer, Jean Francaix.
Elizabeth professionally performs with the New England Wind Symphony, and freelances in orchestras, and as a woodwind doubler in theaters throughout New England. She also adjudicates All-States throughout the New England area, and has been teaching professionally for over 25 years.
Currently, she is studying jazz improvisation on saxophone at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts with Shannon Leclaire.
